On Verification Disparities

I'm noticing a disparity between certain word-counting systems concerning the length of my NaNoWriMo. One site says, Oh look, you've just passed 54,000 words, while Microsoft Word laughs and says, not even close, you're only halfway through 52k. The NaNoWriMo site itself says I haven't even hit 52.5. Hmm. Well. Arg.

Anyway, I just verified my wordcount, equaling victory because it's still over 50. Huzzah!

I am feeling very fat today, but already hungry again even though I just ate three hours ago. No, stomach, you are bloated and twice as big as you were this morning; you are not supposed to want to become bigger! Shame on you!

Jabez Moments Today:

--was reading The Prayer of Jabez for Teens today, dad came in with prayer book, answering a question about a prayer I heard chanted at mass on Sunday. He decided to have me say that prayer at Thanksgiving dinner-lunch, right before we ate.

That counts as a Jabez moment, right?

I've been posting a great deal of poetry at AllPoetry lately, hoping to garner a fanbase--I mean, audience.

No, I do mean fanbase.

There's so much different writing I want to do! I want to be a novelist, and I want to write fiction in free verse, and I want to write play scripts and screenplays and video game scripts, and I want to write lots of short stories to submit to magazines, and poems too, and scripts if I can figure out how to get those in mags. There's just so much!

Oh, and I wanna learn how to write a good essay. That would help. You know. School.

WordCount: Somewhere between 52 and 54k.

Jabez'd: Yes.

On My Poetry Side. Briefly.

Submitted to my school's literary magazine today. Deadline is tomorrow.

A taste of my submissions:

I enjoy tapping into my poetry side.

WordCount: 50005 (Indeed, same as yesterday, but the number is so ironic I couldn't bother to change it. And I had other things to do.)
