On Japanese and Shoes
The real reason I have this blog is for National Novel Writing Month. Sure, it may help me release some emotions or whatever, but I've tried to keep journals before and it was mucho hard. The commitment. However, I think if I keep going with this it will be worth it when I look back on my earlier self. And of course I'll be cringing my socks off.
Figuatively, since I restrain from wearing shoes indoors.
Today in Azu Manga Daoih (I hope I spelled that right) I saw a panel where one Japanese girl was awed by the fact that Americans keep their shoes inside.
Why yes, it is amazing, and we are a great country, long live the queen or president or whatever.
I have been looking into contests a bit--well, places to submit writing and a lot of it. I found the Dead Robot's Society, which is hosting a short story contest thing. Five thousand words of an opening, that is, designed to pull in the reader and make him wanting more. I do not know if I'll enter but it could be extremely interesting. (www.deadrobotssociety.com)
The grand prize is an autographed book of amazing that I haven't heard of. Nevertheless, I am considering!
If so, I'll have to do some durn good writing pretty durn soon.
My Writerly Hat of Awesome shall need a bit of adjusting. There. Now I'm off to check up on author Libba Bray's livejournal. Ta!
Post Script: My high school is having homecoming right now. No thank you.
