On Twilight
The mall is made of love, but I wish there'd been more hot guys--nay, more hot guys interested in me.
Keep on trudging on, chugging on, pushing forward with your shoulders back, standing against the wind...
I saw Twilight today. Well. It was certainly like the book, which was good because it pleased the fangirls, but incredibly boring to those of us who didn't enjoy our time with said book. Five minutes in, my friend and I were snickering at the special effects, to fill the slow pace and keep us from edging out of the theatre. Bella bored me, I'm sorry to say. It's rare to find a character with such a lack of personality. No offense Stephenie Meyer, I honestly respect you as a writer, because you have the passion and I respect the passion. But I found Edward and Bella to be flat, socially awkward characters--yes, I know they're that way in the book, but that doesn't make them riveting to watch.
I did cheer at certain moments, though. I respond well to intense emotions and extreme displays of power; I loved when Eddie shoved the car out of the way, and every time the the bat connected with the baseball my heart slammed through my ribs.
Couldn't stand Charlie. Whatever. I didn't like the way he treated Tyler, and while I'm not the subject of Tyler, was he in the books? I don't remember him in the books. At least he was hot.
So, overall, I don't want to go back and watch Twilight a second time unless it's with someone who is very outspoken, very fun, and who enjoys jeering at movies. Preferably his attention span is short, like mine.
