On Straight Linear

I do believe I shall step back into fanfiction.

But not straight linear stories, at least not now, or in prose form. I rather like free verse and stories told that way, so my next project--I think--will be a Bloody Jack: Clarissa/Jacky friendship story. It will involve Jacky staying with Clarissa, probably to lay low, and as of now I think they will be on her manor. Perhaps I'll put them on Amy's farm, so then there would be Randall and Amy to work with as well, but I am not quite sure. Hmm.

More thought required.

I like outlines. I like outlines in stories and I like outlines in life; hence, my NaNoWriMo outline this year is more or less 23 pages. Last year's was between 31 and 37 or maybe 40, and that was good. Long outlines generally mean more order for me, and so that is good.

To-Do lists help me, a lot, especially the extensive ones, partly because having guidelines of what I'm supposed to do here and here and here help me focus; and also crossing items off the list gives me a bit of down time before I move on the next thing. After posting this, I'll cross off journal. If I find my pencil.

WordCount: 50005. But I want another k today.

There's a healer in the air and he said he'd meet us here...

I am considering writing Christian music, not quite sure how one goes about the specifics of that, but I shall try my best. Cheers!

On Er, Success?

I hit 50k today.

But I'm not halfway through my outline and have been swamped since dawn--the best part about hitting fifty was eating my special 50k award cookie. That made me happy. It was chocolate chip.

Pirates of the Caribbean Online is running in the background.

Shut up, I really am busy.

I have been debating which fanfictiondom to join again. Hmm. Did some Bloody Jack the other day and it didn't feel too bad.

On Cartel

But he's sixteen and he's driving too fast, takes a turn to the left--it would be his last. The body knows what happens if he turns to the right. The body in the car would have died that night...

~Cartel, Wasted

Oh! And I strongly suggest checking out one of the iTunes free downloads this week titled John, the Word of Promise Next Generation Audio Bible: ICB: Free Audio Book. Well, I don't recommend it if you're Jewish, because it's all about Jesus being the son of God. But it is amazing. Like a story. The entire thing is the audio book of John (the Baptist, the guy from the Gospels) and so far I am hooked. I've listened to nearly two out of three hours of it. Hello, wonderful.

I did manage to reach 25k last night. Well, this morning, because I dropped off somewhere around midnight with 23k and miraculously came back at 2am, typed a thousand words, dropped off and again woke up two hours later. I finished the last k somewhere around 4:30, because I emailed it to myself at 4:34. Other than that, the night was a blur of words, and I know that when I go back to edit this thing, half of it is getting executed, and at least a quarter will be replaced. 25k brings be down to about a quarter of my outline, so the entire book will top off somewhere around 100k if I keep going at the rate I'm going. I won't, I know. Last year brought me 95k. Let's go for more!

I'm nearly done with Bloody Jack: My Bonny Light Horseman, and that upsets me. Though it's definitely on the short side and I can spot many, many places where more detail would be wonderful, I am turning out to really like it. I do believe it shall be my favorite, perhaps after the first one. In fact, my list of the books in order according to how I like them at this very moment is:

1--Bloody Jack
2--My Bonny Light Horseman
3--In the Belly of the Bloodhound
4--Under the Jolly Roger
5--Mississippi Jack
6--Curse of the Blue Tattoo

So now I must wait around until Rapture of the Deep Comes out, and then the Wake of Lorelei Lee. Ah!

On Finishing and Funding

I finally finished my NaNoWriMo outline, and I am v proud of myself for it. Mostly I was procrastinating on all the studying I have to do, but outlining is a good excuse not to open my Spanish books.

Me: *cracks textbook* Ho-la.

Textbook: ...

Me: Co-mo es-tas?

Textbook: ...

Me: Muy bee-en, gra-ci-as.

At which point the textbook gets up and struts away, and if I didn't know my textbook better I'd say it was being condescending.

Other than that, I spent my day at church, and at my sis's soccer game, and reading the Sweet Far Thing, and downloading Crisis Core, the last of which has taken me more than an entire day to do. Heh. But I'm told it's worth it and I absolutely positively cannot wait for Final Fantasy XIII: Agito. Or Versus, though chances of me acquiring a PS3 any time soon are slim.

For Christmas this year, I think I want to sponsor a child. You know those 80 cents-a-day things, like the Christian Children's Fund? I could get a whole child sponsored for less than what it would cost to get a Playstation 3. Hello, I think I'm gonna go with the kid.

I love the children!

Well, not all of them. While at my friend's house her little sister tied me up forty different ways--back in my day we didn't teach five-year-olds how to tie knots, and forget laces, we gave them velcro. That's the only proper way.

Sometimes when people finish things, they feel empty, and I know that's true. For some things. Like with God of War Chains of Olympus, the first video game I beat (yes, that's sad, shut up), now I'm not sure what to play. Hence, I'm downloading Crisis Core. Which I bought legally, then it broke--not by me, there was a glitch--and then I got a full refund but the game was still broken and this is the only way for me to get it. Besides, downloading isn't stealing, it's sharing.

Now then.

I fear I would have spent a day and a half working on this download, only to have it not work. Or explode. Or something.

I am not quite to page 500 of the Sweet Far Thing like I'd hoped, but I'm past 450 so I'm getting there. I finally broke halfway through and I'm excited. After that I'm reading My Bonny Light Horseman by L. A. Meyer, part of the Bloody Jack series which I recommend v much. Pirates and lies and love and deception, action, adventure, spies, war and death. That about sums it up. Also, on iTunes there's a free download of Gossip Girl, how they started the series. Sort of behind the scenes. Very interesting, in my opinion. I love that sort of thing.

My procrastination is closing in on me. Ack, soon I shan't be able to breathe, so I suppose this is adieu.
