On McCoy
I actually have time to get in a bit of writing--which is amazing--and also I have downloaded nearly a dozen songs by the Postal Service. One was a duplicate. And I memorized aproximately 90% of Such Great Heights, which is playing right now. And I took the PSAT. And Simon is no longer sick.
So as far as a day went, it was all right. It wasn't all flowers and roses, but I'm not complaining.
Last night I wrote a recommendation for my old Tae Kwon Do dojang to get one of my old friends his black belt. His test is this Saturday. I am going. And, to make more time for my writing, the rest of this post shall simply be my letter. It is very letter-like indeed.
Dear Sa Bum Nim,
Dannon McCoy is incredibly nice. He's laid back, but when it comes time for class, he kicks it into gear and can hold his own against the black belts.
In sparring he's perceptive, a defender more than an offender. He seems to think through every move before execution, his pensiveness in battle a reflection of his personality.
He's a deep thinker. I've never known him to do anything rash or potentially dangerous to himself or other students. Though not particularly extroverted, he's calm and seems to bring peace to a situation just by being there.
I've known Dan since he was low on the color belt scale; I've seen him mature as a martial artist. He's always one to work hard and, whether playing with his little sister before class or doing kicking drills during it, he seems to be having fun.
He deserves his first don.
From,
Me
Also, I can't wait for Halloween!
